Sake Competition Gold
Clearly, a contemporary expression of Kame-no-O, one of the oldest heirloom rice varietals. While it flourished in the early 1900s, high-yielding & disease - resistant varietals like Koshihikari overtook in favour with modern agricultural chemical & fertilizers.
Not until the late 1970s, was Kame-no-O revived in Niigata & this is Kamonishiki paying homage to this extraordinary rice varietal.
Great depth of flavour with nostalgic rusticity interwoven with fresh fruity ginjo aromas.
