Nabeshima Junmai Daiginjo Tankan Wataribune (720ml)

Tankan Wataribune (短稈渡船), Father of Yamadanishiki, is an heirloom sake rice which develops sake with a lovely richness and complexity.  Despite its fickleness when it comes to cultivation, it has proven to many brewers that the prized sake possible is well worth the efforts. It faded into obscurity until it was revived by Huchu Homare Shuzo’s Takaaki Yamauchi in the late 90s.

Nabeshima Junmai Daiginjo Yamadabo (720ml)

Yamadaho or Yamadobo (山田穂), Mother of Yamadanishiki, is one of the rarest and most legendary pure bred sake rice - A favourite of Sake drinkers and brewers alike since the Meji era (1868-1912). Yamadaho yields a lush yet restrained mouthfeel, never overly-imposing or overpowering when paired with masterfully prepared Kaiseki meal.

Nabeshima Junmai Daiginjo Yamadanishiki 45% (720ml)

Test: nabeshima

Fukuchiyo Shuzo 富久千代酒造有限会社

The Nabeshima label design is classic and easily recognizable with the prominent characters in bold calligraphy. The sake is known for its bright character, elegant and refined, yet powerful and impactful. Flavour profiles are unique and range from fruity to umami rich and dry. All sakes are Muroka, not passing through charcoal filtration which also helps to maintain a fresh and lively quality. The brand is the winner of many awards over the last two decades including many awards at the IWC since 2011.
