Samurai Subscription Sake - December 2024

It was 3 years ago, that we last managed to secure a limited allocation of this winter release from Nabeshima.

And gleefully delighted to have snagged limited stocks for this yet again this winter! (after some polite bantering & haggling with Iimori-san and his team)   More so that the pasteurised iteration is no longer available for export markets, we are truly excited to showcase this exceedingly fresh & immaculately balanced expression of Gohyakumangoku as a Namazake!

Exquisitely vivid in character and wonderfully lively in texture, we were stunned with its  immaculate balance, when our team of sommeliers performed a sensory tasting a week after the shipment arrived.

As stocks are truly limited, each order will be limited to 3 bottles.

Test: nabeshima

Fukuchiyo Shuzo 富久千代酒造有限会社

The Nabeshima label design is classic and easily recognizable with the prominent characters in bold calligraphy. The sake is known for its bright character, elegant and refined, yet powerful and impactful. Flavour profiles are unique and range from fruity to umami rich and dry. All sakes are Muroka, not passing through charcoal filtration which also helps to maintain a fresh and lively quality. The brand is the winner of many awards over the last two decades including many awards at the IWC since 2011.
