Bright medium ruby colour with a purple rim. A rich nose with fruity aromas such as fresh blueberry and plum, floral aromas such as rose and lavender, subdued oak, accented with soft spice aromas such as nutmeg and clove. Dry on the palate, fine tannins and supple acidity very elegantly expressed, with flavours of blueberry and rose expand in the mouth. On the whole, a refreshing wine characterized by varietal purity.
The wine is based on Muscat Bailey A from contract growers in the Hosaka district, Nirasaki city, at the foot of Mt. Kayagatake in northwestern Yamanashi prefecture, blended with estate bordeaux varieties from Misawa Vineyard. The wine is stored in French oak barrels (for about 8 months), followed by a well-balanced assemblage in a manner so as to maximise the varietal characteristics of the respective varieties.
The soft texture goes well with food of all kinds and is perfect with Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes.
An approachable wine that expresses the region of Yamanashi.
