Tasting Notes : Touge Goe is a sour brown ale barrel aged in Wine and Whisky Barrels for over two years. We brewed this beer back at the beginning of January 2019, when our friends from Kyoto brewing company came to visit us here in Nozawa Onsen. Since first brewing the beer it’s been patiently sat in our barrel store on both wine and whiskey barrels, during which time a selection of bacteria has gently worked its magic. After a long time in the barrel, as one would expect, this is a very complex beer that develops with every sip, beautifully moreish and deceptively drinkable for 7.5% abv.
